The evaluation question should address what is or is not racist/an accurate portrayal. (i.e. What do you think of Atticus saying that it is ten times worse to cheat a black man than a white man?)
When Miss Maudie mentioned that Atticus was one of the person born to help "them" do unpleasant jobs, does it mean that some white people have the responsibility to aid the African Americans?
How do you think about the quote "And so a quiet, respectable, humble Negro who had the unmitigated temerity to ‘feel sorry’ for a white woman has had to put his word against two white people’s."?
Is it racist to assume a certain race is racist? Is a comment "racist" even if it's true? For example, is it racist for the judge to appoint Atticus because he assumed that no one else would want the job of defending a black man?
Do you think the jury were convinced by Atticus but still signed the verdict because he is afraid he will be called a nigger-lover if he let Tom Robinson go?
Is there a reason for Alexandra so against Calpurnia in the house other than Calpurnia being black?
